Cobb and Co Run Tour - 2 days with overnight camp.

Want more than one day away? On this two day trip we will travel along an old route where the Cobb & Co coaches trundled along on their way from the coast to the tablelands.

Route
The Cobb & Co route starts just west of Grafton and follows the one of the first routes to the New England Tablelands at the turn of the century.

Timing
This is a great trip all year round with swimming available in the warmer months.

Fuel and Supplies
Grafton has plenty of fuel and supermarkets for supplies. There are no other services available for around 140km so it is advisable to be self sufficient for this trip. There is very limited phone coverage.

Highlights
Visiting an old gold mining town, swimming and camping around the Nymboida and Boyd Rivers, stunning scenery with mountain views, passing through the convict tunnel, flora and fauna, bushwalking and photography.

We will pass through a tunnel that was hand shaped for the coaches and explore an old township that was home to an amazing 13 pubs in its heyday.

Our campsite will overlook river and mountain views, giving it a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. This is a good campsite for the kids as they can play in and around the fresh running water of the clear river as it makes its way towards the sea. Many of the off shoot pools here are shallow and clean so mum and dad can be rest assured that the kids can play safely.

The water, which filters through the granite based sand that starts at the top of the table lands, is crystal clear and clean. Swimming is a must in the warmer months in the cooling river that runs beside the road for most of the trip. Further on we will traverse several tracks that lead to some totally amazing lookouts that will leave you breathless.

Low range 4wd, your own camping equipment and provisions for two days are needed for this "shop free" adventure.
