The Team

Kevin Smith has been around 4wds for nearly 20 years. From extensive outback touring, years of competing around the traps in 4wds and exploring the Coffs Coast, he has an extensive range of tips, hints, secret spots and local knowledge.

A talented photographer, he can spot a picture from a mile away. Kev has travelled extensively throughout Eastern Australia shooting images across a range of landscapes from the arid centre to the wet tropics. A selection of Kev's images is featured throughout the Coffs Coast 4WD Tours website.

A keen 4wder for many years, Kev has set up several 4wds to tackle any situation, from easy picnic days sightseeing on the Coffs Coast through to tracks that mountain goats shy away from.

Kev has had his 4wds featured in national magazines, hosted large 4wd groups, spent countless hours showing national magazine and DVD crews around the Coffs Harbour hinterland and participated in magazine shoots.

Kev is also a contributor to a number of 4wd magazines, reflecting his passion for the 4wd life. Kev's energy, passion and expertise are featured in his book Coffs Coast - 4WD Destinations.

Mark Brindle has grown up in the automotive game. Some say he was born in the spare parts section. Mark owns and operates the Coffs Harbour TJM Megastore.

Mark has a passion for all things 4wd, from decking out the latest grey tourer fourby to setting up a comp truck. Mark has the knowledge and wisdom to know what works and what doesn't work.

Coffs Coast 4wd Tours is based at TJM Coffs Harbour where the whole team, from the crew in the huge workshop to the sales staff, enjoy their 4w driving in the Coffs Coast hinterland through to the outback experience, or even dragging the tinnie to remote spots. You won't find a more passionate bunch.

Our Aims

To provide visitors to the Coffs Coast and local residents with a first class 4wding experience featuring some of the best scenery, local history and area tracks that the Coffs hinterland has to offer.

To provide driver education and training options that focus on attitude, vehicle handling, nature preservation and situation assessment.

Coffs Coast 4WD Tours recognizes the National 4wd Code of Conduct.

1. Obey the laws and regulations for Recreational Vehicles that apply to public lands.
2. Respect the cultural, heritage and environmental values of public/private land by obeying restrictions that may apply.
3. Seek permission before driving on private land. Do not disturb livestock or watering points, leave gates as found.
4. Keep to formed vehicle tracks.
5. Respect our flora and fauna. Stop and look, but never disturb.
6. Keep the environment clean. Carry our own, and any other, rubbish out.
7. Keep your vehicle mechanically sound and clean to reduce the environmental impact.
8. Adopt minimal impact camping and driving practices.
9. Take adequate water, food, fuel, basic spares and a first aid kit on trips.
10. Enjoy your recreation and respect the rights of others.
11. Plan ahead and lodge trip details with a responsible person.
12. Support four-wheel drive touring as a responsible and legitimate family recreational activity. Consider joining an affiliated four-wheel drive Club.
